The best paRichmond Wedding 8rt about being a wedding planner is getting to meet great couples like Taryn and Stephen.  They were married in September on a gorgeous sunny day at Jasmine Plantation which is just outside of Richmond Virginia. Jasmine offers a striking backdrop for any Southern Wedding, but especially this one.  Taryn was one of those brides I just connected with from the start.  Our youngest girls are a month apart so we really bonded over comparing our girls’ developmental milestones.
I learned all about Stephen’s career as a local firefighter. Richmond Wedding 4Taryn talked about her work with Autistic children.  One conversation with her and you immediately know she’s a special soul.  We spent lots of time getting to know each other which is so important when you are trusting your wedding planner to help organize, design and execute one of the most momentous occasions in your life.  I am so honored that Taryn and Stephen trusted me with their day.  Richmond Wedding 10This day was extra special.  In May, Taryn’s mom passed away and we made sure to honor her memory by including some subtle details like having her wedding portrait on the card table.  Taryn’s cousin processed down the aisle before Taryn with a purple stem for her mom’s chair.  We had the florist make a swag for the back  Richmond Wedding 17
of her chair which Taryn placed on her grave the next day.  It was such a touching sentiment.  Her mom was present in every aspect of the day and I know she would be so proud of Taryn and happy to have Stephen as a son in law.   I know she was smiling down because every detail was amazing.  Richmond Wedding 3Taryn looked beautiful in her dress.  Their girls rang the old church bell when they kissed.  They were married and ever one ate, dressed and was merry. wedding-planner-richmond-virginia Wine barrels held breathtaking floral arrangements and the tables were glittered with mercury glass, lanterns, and arrangements in shades of fuschia and white.
Taryn and Stephen danced with the girls and their guests and there was so much joy.
I’m proud to say I was a part of it.  Their highlight film from Keith Reagan was so very touching. I may or may not have ugly snot cried when I watched it.
