Oh MY!! What do I say about this wedding?! The couple Jessica and Lucas (along with their families) turned this working cattle farm into a piece de resistance! I had been out to the farm several times before their wedding day and it was so cool to see the transformation. I also visited three months after the wedding and it looked like a farm again! Except for the ceremony site’s arch you wouldn’t even know there had been a wedding. This was the 2nd wedding I left before the guests. The nice thing about having your event on private party is the flexibility!! The DJ was having so much fun that he didn’t want to leave either!! It was great! Jessica and Lucas had the most amazing day. You probably think I say that about all weddings I participate in… but this was truly exceptional. Nothing was mundane. Their personal vows to each other brought tears to my eyes. I was very close to the ugly snot cry actually!! I NEVER cry at weddings…I thought I had heard all versions of vows before but the references to the mermaid man costume cracked me up at one point and made me cry the next. Same thing with their toasts! Lucas’ brother and best man had everyone sobbing (in a good way). Their first dance…. Flawlessly choreographed and executed… twice!! LOVED it!! Carter (the bride from a previous blog post: Preppy Wedding on the James) was in attendance and said how much fun it was. It was fun for me to catch up with her too and hear all about their new adventure in home building. I had a great time working with all the wildflowers Jess wanted for her centerpieces. The lambs ear was the softest I had ever seen! Jess and Lucas left the wedding to change and returned to play inflatable instruments along with the Dj’s jams and everyone danced and smiled until their face and legs hurt. Can you ask for anything more?! I love reliving it through their pictures!!
