I honestly think I have the best job in the world. Who wouldn’t want to be a wedding planner? Our job is to literally plan parties, events, and weddings in Charleston, SC!!! We are there for the most monumental of occasions. I love coordinating events for people for any occasion but specifically for their wedding. So as part of this wedding planner series of posts I am going to tell you what I like most about coordinating a wedding in each area we serve.
So I love weddings. Period. Anytime, anywhere, anyhow. I LOVE them. That’s what makes me so great at what I do. I have passion for them. But… if you think I’m enthusiastic about weddings in Virginia you should see how excited I get when I am a Wedding Planner in Charleston, SC!!! OMG!!! AHHHHH!!! Insert high pitched, girlie, ear shattering squeal here! Y’all know I am a Southern Girl to the core and there is an unrivalled amount of southern charm in Charleston. No, I’m not talking about the reality show. (But if you want to talk about how Kathryn and Thomas drive me bat shit crazy and how I adore Pat just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org) . I love everything Charleston. From Battery Park to the Water Taxis, to Sermetts, to the French Quarter to the open air market, to the beaches… I love it all. Charleston just feels like home. I even love the salty humid air. If you’ve never been there is no way to describe Charleston to you. You have to experience it. The gardens are gorgeous. The air smells of Gardenia and Confederate Jasmine. The streets are lined with Crepe Myrtles and the houses are covered in Creeping Fig. History is alive here. You can almost hear it and feel it when you’re walking the streets. There is no better southern cuisine than here in Charleston. Everything tastes better here. Actually… everything is better here. That goes for weddings too. When you think of Charleston you think of Plantation Weddings. There is nothing more southern. Standing on the banks of the river under a Live Oak Tree dripping with Spanish Moss has got to be the most swoon-worthy moment of your life. It’s your Gone with the Wind moment when Rhett Butler tells you that you need to be kissed and kissed often by someone who knows how. Seriously… you should write that into your vows. I give you full permission to steal that. There’s no city more romantic. You can recreate the Notebook at Boone Hall Plantation . Magnolia Plantation has the most perfect waterfront Plantation House and Gardens to have bridal portraits done. Battery Park is another great location for pictures. And the Pink House on Chalmers Street is my favorite place for a bride and her girls to get photographed!
